Signs that do the job from day one

A good sign is working for your business around the clock. It tells people you are here, what you do and how to find you. A poor sign, or no sign at all, means lost customers before they even walk through the door.

At Show Off in Sandnes, we produce business signs for companies in Stavanger, Sandnes, Forus, Sola and across Rogaland. Prices start from NOK 4,000 for a simple facade sign and go up to NOK 120,000 or more for large illuminated systems with pylons.

What is a facade sign?

A facade sign is a sign mounted directly on the front or exterior wall of a building. It is usually the most visible sign a business has, and the first thing customers see.

Facade signs come in many forms: flat aluminium panels, acrylic signs with routed letters, 3D letters, LED-illuminated signs and lightboxes. The right choice depends on your building, your budget and how far you want the sign to be visible.

Types of facade signs

Flat signs

The simplest and most affordable option. Flat signs are made in aluminium, dibond or acrylic with vinyl graphics or routed letters. They work well for offices and businesses that do not need to be visible after dark.

Typical price range: NOK 4,000 to 15,000.

3D letters (non-illuminated)

Cut or formed letters mounted directly on the facade to create a three-dimensional effect. This gives the sign more depth and presence than a flat panel, without the cost of illumination.

Typical price range: NOK 8,000 to 30,000 depending on material and number of letters.

LED letters with front lighting

3D letters with LED modules inside, lighting through a coloured acrylic front. Highly visible both day and night. This is the most common choice for shops and commercial premises on busy streets.

Typical price range: NOK 20,000 to 55,000.

LED letters with back lighting (halo effect)

Here, the light shines backward from the letters onto the wall behind them, creating a glowing halo around each letter. The effect is subtle and elegant, and works particularly well on dark facades.

Typical price range: NOK 25,000 to 70,000.

Lightbox signs

A lightbox is an illuminated panel where the entire surface glows from within. The graphic is printed on a translucent film that is stretched or mounted over the lit surface. Lightboxes are practical, durable and offer large visible areas at a manageable price.

Typical price range: NOK 10,000 to 45,000.

How much does an illuminated sign cost in Stavanger?

Prices include design, production and installation. Building permit applications are quoted separately.

How much does a pylon cost?

A pylon is a freestanding sign structure placed at the entrance to a property, along a road or in a car park. They are used when the facade sign is not visible from the approach, or when the business needs to be identified from a distance.

Pylon typeTypical price
Simple pylon, 2-3 metres tallNOK 30,000 - 60,000
Large illuminated pylon, 4-6 metresNOK 60,000 - 120,000
Wayfinding or information pylonNOK 20,000 - 50,000

Pylons always require a building permit and often foundation work. These costs are in addition to the sign itself.

Why illuminated signs matter in Rogaland

Rogaland has long, dark winters. From October to March, evenings come early. Businesses that rely on unlit signs lose visibility for a significant portion of their operating hours.

An LED illuminated sign uses 60 to 80 percent less electricity than the fluorescent tubes of previous generations. For a sign running 12 to 16 hours a day, that means real savings on the power bill. LED modules typically last 50,000 to 100,000 hours, which translates to 10 to 15 years of normal use without replacing light sources.

For most businesses in Stavanger and Sandnes that are open into the evenings or located along busy roads, an illuminated sign pays for itself through increased visibility.
