Vinyl, laminate, adhesive and substrate determine outdoor decal performance. Learn what businesses should specify before production.

The short answer

Outdoor graphics are commonly made from printed vinyl with protective laminate when required. Service life also depends on substrate, exposure, climate, cleaning and installation.

UV and weather

Sunlight can degrade colour and material. Laminate can protect print from UV, moisture and abrasion, but the product must match the required lifespan and exposure.

Cleaning and chemicals

Frequent washing, degreasers or chemical exposure require a precise specification. State the cleaning product, method and frequency.

The substrate matters as much as the film

Metal, glass, paint and plastics behave differently. Dirt, wax, silicone, texture and low surface energy can weaken adhesion.

Test before volume production

For charging stations, machinery and other critical installations, test on the actual substrate and in relevant conditions before the full run.

Plan your next production run

Explore bulk stickers, EV charging station decals, industrial decals and product labels. For a quote, send quantities, dimensions, substrate, versions and delivery plan.
